Chris has served as President of NextGen technologies since founding the company in 2011.
Chris is an experienced manager and Journeyman CPC Technologist with a Provincial Trade Qualification as a Telecontrol Technologist. In addition to his extensive work on capital projects, infrastructure maintenance and repair, Chris drives the procurement and assignment of work at NextGen. He plays a key role in field commissioning, training of NextGen’s workforce and management of the company’s financials.
Prior to founding NextGen, Chris spent three years working as an Apprentice CPC Technologist with BC Hydro, the province’s largest utility provider, which he followed with an additional five and a half years as a CPC Technologist at Hydro.
Chris holds a Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology from BCIT.
Vice President Field Operations
Damian joined NextGen in 2011 as Vice-President of Field Operations following a successful career with BC Hydro. He is a versatile, leadership-oriented Vice-President with extensive experience in protection, monitoring, automation and metering of utility and industrial electric power systems.
He began his career with BC Hydro in 2001 as an Engineering Technologist. He later moved on to CPC Technology in 2004 and worked as a CPC Technologist with Hydro until to 2011. In this capacity he oversaw field crews and contractors, maintained test plans, event records and drawings, and created work plans, in addition to estimating and budgeting.
Damian graduated with a Diploma in Automation and Instrumentation from BCIT in 2001, and also holds an Electric Power Diploma from BCIT, completed in 2004.
Kelly joined NextGen in 2013 as our Operations Manager. Kelly’s long and varied career in electrical engineering has afforded him continual opportunities to apply theoretical training to field, teaching and management environments. He brings to NextGen a wealth of Senior Management experience in policy development, HR strategy development, CPC training and contractor procurement, in addition to strong technical skills developed through decades of testing, commissioning, design and maintenance.
Kelly began his career with SaskPower as a Systems Test Technologist in 1997. After four years in this position he advanced to Construction Technical Support in 2001 and Distribution Engineering in 2002. Moving west in 2003, Kelly began work with BC Hydro as a CPC Technologist and later as a Sub-Foreman. He served as a Stations Manager and a CPC Manager in 2008 before being promoted in 2012 to a Senior Program Management position. where he oversaw CPC Review Implementation, managing BC Hydro’s largest CPC Field department.
Kelly holds an Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Palliser Campus.
